Mr. Lectious Frank Eunice, transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
The Celebration of Life for Mr. Lectious Frank Eunice will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 12:00PM at the Murchison Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, 7629 Natural Bridge Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63121. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM till the beginning of service.
Lectious “Frank” Eunice, a God-fearing, honest, and respected man, was the most valued gift to his family, friends, and especially his wife. He was a kind, wise, and gentle spirit who carried himself in a manner that made his daughters proud and prompted many other youth to also seek his advice and counsel.
Frank was born June 19, 1950, to Pearl Carter Eunice and Judson Eunice in Burke County, Georgia. He grew up in Augusta, Georgia with his mother, four brothers, and twin sisters. Following a number of illnesses and an open-heart surgery, Frank’s heart failed on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Know that through all the medical challenges Frank fought the good fight, did not complain, and truly believed in God’s salvation. God’s got him now and he is healed!
Marriage: December 28, 1973, Frank married Lillian Doris McCowan of Houston, Texas. This union changed both their lives and yielded the most interesting and heartfelt stories and experiences for 47 years. If you asked him to share the best highlights of their journey together, he would quickly say the birth and accomplishments of his daughters Selena and Michelle. Then, in the most solemn mood, he would go on to tell how much he loved his wife.
Frank attended public schools in Augusta and graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School, where he was an honor student. In sports at Laney High, he not only played football, but Frank was a “football star.” His sports skills often became local news features and eventually garnered him scholarship offers to several colleges. Frank chose to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He was a math genius – one of those people that could calculate multiple equations in his head to an accurate conclusion – while most others were still using calculators or paper and pen. His math skills served him well and led to a job offer in the New York stock market, but he chose to make his home with his family in St. Louis.
Employment: A professional career in St. Louis began with Frank as a Geographical Zone Manager for the Lincoln-Mercury Division of Ford Motor Company. When Ford changed its divisions model, Frank decided to make his mark in the field of education by teaching job training and math skills to youth at Watterson Career College in St. Louis, Missouri. In pursuit of advancing his career, Frank worked for a short while as a stock broker in New York City, but, again, St. Louis was the better place for family life. Frank then found a passion for building and industrial maintenance, where he held management positions at Service Master, Incorporated for several years. Then carrying on in a management role, Frank held the position of Director of Facilities Maintenance at Normandy Schools Collaborative until his retirement in 2012.
Frank was a devoted member of Murchison Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in St. Louis. At Murchison, Frank was a long-time active member of the steward board and men’s choir. He received the Dotcy I. Isom Service Award in 1994 and was a multiple C.M.E. District Lay Ministry awardee.
Frank was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He loved to cook, spend good times with family and friends, enjoyed eating good food, traveling, reading, cell phone video games, music, and western movies
