Ms. Mary LaVene Crim Harvey, age 92, of Metropolis, Illinois, made her transition from Earth to Glory on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 9:57AM at her residence.
The Celebration of Life for Ms. Mary LaVene Crim Harvey will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, 12:00Noon at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 818 Vienna Street, Metropolis, Illinois with Reverend Ronnie Woods, Reverend Stephen Robinson, Jr. and Pastor Christopher Swims, officiating. The Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Choates, Illinois in collaboration with Austin A. Layne Mortuary, Inc. of St. Louis, Missouri, Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home of Paducah, Kentucky and Harrison Funeral Chapel of Alton, Illinois.
Visitation for Mrs. Harvey will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00AM until the hour of service.
Ms. Mary LaVene Harvey was formerly employed at Krypton Assisted Living Home in Metropolis, the Food Bank in Carbondale and retired from the Massac County Courthouse as a bookkeeper. Mary was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis, where she served as church musician.
Those left to cherish this wonderful, beautiful, and faithful woman of God and carry on her legacy are her five children, Karen P. (Delmar, Jr.) Algee of Carbondale, Illinois, John (Teresa) Lamarr, Sr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Charlotta "Gayle" Hayles (Dennis, Sr.) of Florissant, Missouri, Kathleen D. Harvey-Foster of Grays Lake, Illinois and Ramona L. Harvey of North Chicago, Illinois; one stepson, Michael Harvey of Chicago, Illinois; loving grandchildren, Alicia Algee-McIntosh, Toni Lamarr-Stuckey, Melinda Lamarr, Kelly Lamarr-Glass, Sean Algee, Erica Lamarr, Dana Algee, Sareeta Lamarr, John Lamarr, Jr., Delmar Algee, III, Anita Hayles, Denise Hayles, Dennis Hayles, Jr., Sarah Foster-Moore, Quinton R. Foster, De'Ona Lamarr, Imari Lamarr, and Alycia Price; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, that is waiting to join her; nephew, Elton Jerome Crim; several nieces, other nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
