Cheryl L Graham

January 13, 1954 ~ July 22, 2020 (age 66)

Obituary

Cheryl Lenore Graham was born on January 13, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the first born child to Robert Venerable (who proceeded her in death) and Addean Chambers Venerable Pearson. Also proceeded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Monzella Chambers and uncles, Jewell Chambers and Kelvin Chambers.

Cheryl began her education at Lexington Elementary School and graduated from Normandy High School in 1973. She continued her education at St. Louis Community College, Fontbonne University, and Harris Stowe-State College graduating Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Elementary Education in 1997. Cheryl married her childhood sweetheart Kerrick Graham on March 24, 1977, and to this union Leviya Lenore Graham was born.

Cheryl developed a strong work ethic, leading to her first job at Rice Daycare Center.  While there, she discovered her passion for early childhood education. She went on to teach Kindergarten at Ascension-St. Paul Catholic School. During her tenure, Cheryl realized that serving young people would be her chosen profession. Her love for educating “the little people” as she would affectionately call her students continued with work in the Riverview Gardens School District, Head Start and various Day Care Centers. Her talent and creativity inspired her to build her classroom into a lively, loving, and learning environment for young people to thrive. Cheryl was not only a loyal and dedicated team member, she was truly committed to her students, parents, and the teaching profession.

Cheryl loved her family and was loved and supported by them as well, especially her daughter Leviya. Cheryl was most known for her “no-nonsense” delivery of love.

Cheryl cherished her grandson, LaMonte’ RaSean Patton. He was her ultimate JOY. She reserved a special place in her heart for Beverly Chandler and Jeanette Germany. Cheryl also enjoyed a special relationship with her companion, Michael Malone.

Cheryl accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She departed this life on July 22, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Leviya L. Graham; her mother, Addean Pearson; her grandson, LaMonte’ R. Patton; her brother, Dwayne Venerable (Cassandra); one niece, one nephew and a host of other family and friends.
