Harold L. Thompson, 82, of Florissant, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Mr. Thompson was a multifaceted man of God. He served as a deacon at St. Louis Bible Way Church, educated thousands as a teacher at Sumner High School, led hundreds on travel excursions around the globe, entertained multitudes as the bassist for Trio Tres Bien, and was selected to the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame for his legendary leadership of the Sumner Bulldogs track team.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gwendolyn; two daughters, Kimberly (John) Henderson and Danita (Robert) Mumphard; six grandchildren; a sister, Dr. Patricia T. Whitelocke; his twin brother, Howard Thompson; two sisters-in-law; an uncle, Maurice Bell; 12 nieces and nephews; cousins; seven God-children; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Layne Renaissance Chapel. Due to social distancing recommendations, 10 people at a time will be allowed into the chapel for the visitation.
The funeral begins at 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020, at the Renaissance Chapel and will be live streamed. The in-person service itself will be private, again due to social distancing measures
