Marcus Coleman Collins - a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and dear friend - was born March 18, 1990 to Rhonda Coleman
Collins and Gregory James Collins in Waukegan, Illinois. Marcus graduated from Hoffman Estates High School where his played football for all four years. He also attended Harper and Parkland College.
He was the brother to an older sister Shanna and younger sister Dominique...yes he was a middle child and only son. He was the eldest
grandson to Ruth and Ron Coleman, Otha and Willie Collins. He was nephew to Debra Collins, Reggie Coleman, Rene Coleman, and Ramona Bell. Valerie Coleman, Diane Coleman and Stephen Bell. Also Flo Robinson and Willie Collins Jr. who proceeded him in passing. His cousins
are Reggie, Reece, Diamond, and Raquel. He also leaves his very close and long term friend Hugo. And many other close friends that he kept with him on his earth journey.
Marcus was a curious child and grew into a hard working and fun loving young man. He could discuss many topics with you, but his favorite subjects were history and geography.
He was at his most peaceful and happy place cooking in the kitchen, grilling like his grandad, or running free in the green mountain yard of his
'Tennessee Granny' home. He absolutely loved a good meal.
He laughed often and had a heartwarming smile. He enjoyed his sports and playing video games with his dad as a child, playing power
rangers with his sisters or watching his favorite tv shows with his mom.
He was a talented artist who loved to draw.
Marcus was not one to judge and always tried to get along with everyone, and was often the peacemaker.
Marcus forged many strong bonds with his close friends and co workers that became close friends and mentors like Ardel.
Marcus left us too soon, but for us still here, there would never have been enough time. He leaves family and friends to cherish his memory.
There will be a life celebration to share those memories and commemorate his life later this year. We will share that information when that time comes. In the by and by, please continue to celebrate his life by sharing stories and remembering all the times that Marcus
touched your life, and cherish time with all your loved ones that are still here. He would want that for each of us.
We thank everyone who was a part of Marcus's Life Journey and took forward to a time we can all share those precious moments together. Please donate to a favorite charity in his name. Thank you and blessings to you all. I'' end with one of his favorite songs..."Carry on, my wayward son, There'll be peace when you are done, Lay your weary head to rest..."
Love you son.
