Life Reflections
Mr. Wendell Hardwrict was born on October 10, 1953 to the late Ola Taylor and Hunter Davis in Saint Louis, Missouri. He grew up on the Southside of town and attended Catholic School for his primary grades, kindergarten through eighth grade. He attended McKinley High and graduated in 1972. Upon him accepting Christ at an early age, he was baptized. He later attended St. Louis Community College - Florissant Valley and Saint Louis Plumbing School, where he became a Journeyman Plumber and later a Master Plumber. During his career he became a member of Local 35, which later merge with Local 562 Plumbers and Pipefitters. After thirty-five years, he retired in 2016. He looked forward to their monthly “First Friday” meetings, where they all got together. With his kind heart, he would oversee the care of many of his elderly family members, making sure that they were properly cared for, visiting them and assisting them in any way he could. He never turned down an opportunity to help with family picnics or friends plumbing problems. Wendell loved spending time with his family and special friends, Elzora Smith, Curtis Waterford and Kenny Stevens. He also loved the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with the hunting club. Another passion he had was the love of music, sports (The Saint Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Mizzou Tigers) and traveling. He departed this life on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. Wendell is preceded in death by his mother Ola Taylor, stepfather, Charles Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Mary Morgan, who help raise him. I know he is in heaven playing football with Jake Chester and Butch Walker since that's all they talked about. Wendell leaves to cherish his memories forever: a loving father ~ Hunter (Joyce) Davis; three sisters ~ Kimberley Taylor, Vicki Davis, and Kendra Davis-Watts; one brother ~ Kevin Davis, a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and his Local 562 Plumbers and Pipefitters family.
