Though extremely difficult, it was a privilege to experience what I’ve witnessed countless families come to me and testify of their satisfaction of you during their hours of bereavement- to experience it 1st hand. I know that it was difficult to handle it because my grandmother was your grandmother too. However, you exceeded all of our expectations. During business hours and out of business hours. You treated us like I’ve witnessed you treat many other families. Available, professional, going above and beyond. Made me proud as your wife. My family has been raving about how you carried this entire process. THANK YOU! Any family that has the opportunity to have you as their funeral director, will be blessed! You represented Austin A. Layne, Jr (and now his legacy) well. I now understand why everyone called you “Lil Austin”. Even just yesterday at another funeral. I over heard someone say, “Oh, there’s Lil Austin” .. LOL. Thank you for answering my wife calls and text messages after business hours. My wife was devastated over the loss of our son. I didn’t know what to do, but my wife yelled out, “Call Austin Layne and see if we could get Miss Jackson as our Funeral Director.” Miss Jackson will know how to help us with Tony.” This was the worst thing we have ever experience in our life. No parent wants to bury their child. Miss Jackson made this difficult situation bearable. To Jakobe Hopkins- About 6 months ago my nephew died and I saw this vibrant young man. I sensed that he truly cared he assured me and my family that all things will be ok. We're so glad we chose Austin Layne for my son Justin Walker funeral. Shamari Jackson was a God Sin to our family. I was very emotional about burying my 21yr old son. She was so reassuring that everything was going to be alright. First off she prayed with us, which made everything a little easier. Anytime I called her for a question, she was always there to answer. She was always pleasant to talk to an so professional. When having to bury a love one is always hard, but having to bury your young child is even harder. But having someone like Shamari Jackson makes everything a little more bearable. Thanks Shamari for everything!

It’s been 8 months now since my father, Dwight I Brinkley, passing and I reflect back to the care, honor and respect that Mr Austin Layne and his staff had for his home going services. The personal details and care that you all had for our family allowed us relief and a chance to breathe through the process. The day that my 2 sons and I made arrangements for my husband and their father, Lionel Harris, was one of the most emotional times in our lives.
Ms Shamari Jackson, in her expertise, showed my sons and me compassion, kindness and professionalism. It wasn't just part of her job, it was genuine.
I sensed her kind and sweet spirit the moment I met her.She was very helpful through out the entire process. She was so attentive to our needs. Hi, I just want to compliment you, Mr. Austin Layne, Jr. & family and workers on how your professional service is. I was there today for Carol Jean Richardson Jones' memorial service. It was beautiful and of course, your service made the service & beautified the Whole Picture of the Memorial.

Your Funeral Home is one of the nicest I have seen in years. To walk in the door and feel no burden at all, I just want to give props where they are due. Thank you for your lovely service. And Yes, I agreed this is such a beautiful relaxed stress free setting especially during the time of a loved one lost. On behalf of the family of Bessie Mae Hayes, I would like to thank our funeral director Cornell Robinson for his excellent service. Cornell was patient with us, listening to everyone, but paying special attention to my brother and me in regards to what WE wanted for our mom.

He made sure that we got what we wanted and worked within our budget. He knew that I wanted specific things for my mom and they happened right down to how she looked. He worked closely with my cousin in ensuring that the final program was just how she wanted it catering to the perfectionist that she is. Cornell also made himself available to us any time of day via his personal cell phone number.

My mother's death came suddenly and we were heartbroken, but that pain was eased in the planning via Austin Layne's services and Cornell. Thank you again and may God Bless you abundantly!
